Trace3D

Vendor: Trace3D

Overview

Trace is a no code, high fidelity augmented reality creation platform, designed to let creators, brands and organisations build immersive spatial experiences easily. It provides a full ecosystem: a mobile Creator app for placing content in the real world, a web based Studio for managing, organising and publishing AR projects, and a viewer for users to experience published AR content on mobile devices or XR headsets. Trace is built for persistent AR, meaning content can be anchored to real world places rather than just temporarily shown, and works across mobile, AR glasses, and headsets such as Vision Pro and Meta Quest, currently in early access.

Product overview

No code AR authoring

Build AR experiences without writing code, placing 3D models, videos, text and avatars directly in real world scenes via the Creator app.

Trace Studio web management

A browser based hub to manage teams, projects and content, organise assets in a content library, and publish via link, QR code or GPS location.

Persistent anchoring

Anchors keep AR content tied to real world physical locations or images, useful for location based experiences in buildings, retail or exhibitions.

3D recording and avatars

Capture movement, gestures and speech, and integrate avatars into AR scenes to make experiences more personal or guided.

Drawing and annotation

Draw in 3D and annotate directly in your AR scene, useful for educational overlays or guided tours.

Extensive asset library

A free AR ready 3D model library with optimised, performance tested assets that can be remixed, animated or re-materialised in Studio.

Cross device viewing

A viewer app for mobile devices, with XR headset support via early access, and real time updates whenever content changes in Studio.

Scalable publishing and hosting

Scalable hosting for large audience deployments, with version controlled projects and scenes that can be updated post publish.

  • Create organisational workspace and user accounts, and assign roles such as owner, editor and viewer

Content creation and anchoring

  • Plan Projects and Scenes, deciding whether content is GPS anchored or global
  • Prepare 3D models, avatars, video and annotation content, keeping asset sizes optimised for good AR performance
  • Test placement and anchoring on site before wider publication

Publishing and access

  • Decide how content will be shared, link, QR code, alphanumeric code or GPS location
  • Confirm cross device access for the intended audience, mobile, web or XR headset
